Recently you received an email from EMM stating that Postini would no longer be
functioning as of midnight August 10th.
Please review the below information and make these changes ASAP.
( If you have already made these changes please disregard this notice )
On August 10th your email will stop working if you do not make these changes, as Postini is shutting down the system.
First check to see where your MX records are currently pointing. Do that by going to this site and enter your domain name into the field.
If you see this, you must update your MX records. These are the MX records that point to Postini, and will no longer work after August 10th.
- If you see this (below) your MX records have already been updated, and you do not need to do anything else.
If you see anything else listed as your MX Records, please do not change them. There is a good chance you have a "Split Domain" with us, and we do not host ALL of your email. Please open a support ticket for further assistance if you see something other than specified.
If your MX records need to be changed, the next step is to find out who is hosting your DNS. To do this, we will use the tool below to find out the name servers. Again, enter your domain name into the field. Your Name Servers are usually hosted by the company where you purchased your domain name ( godaddy, enom, dotster, register.com etc.. ) OR by your web hosting company. Sometimes they are the same.
As soon as you have identified the domain hosting company
(i.e. GoDaddy, Network solutions etc.) you will need the login credentials for your Domain hosting company (not your EMM login credentials) . Once you have logged in please follow the instructions below. If you are unable to login, please call that company and ask for assistance. EMM is unable to assist you with logging into another providers systems.
Once Logged in: Look for “DNS” or “Manage Domains”. Note: Not all domain hosting companies use the same verbiage to find the area to manage these records so, if you run into trouble please call that company and they will be able to either point you to the right place or do it for you.
1. Priority 10 - server1.inboundmx.com
2. Priority 20 - server2.inboundmx.com
Very Important Notes: These are the only 2 MX records that you will need so you must remove all other remaining mx records.
Also, your domain name should NOT be included in the MX record.
Old MX Records - Remove ALL of these
New MX Records - Only add these in, Exactly as shown
We apologize for this inconvenience but it is beyond our control. If you need assistance please contact our support team.
