How do I setup my AutoDiscover CNAME or SRV?

You must have control over domain. For example, users who purchased their domain.

What is autodiscover and its purpose

 Procedure:

This step requires you to create either a CNAME or SRV record where your domain is hosted, this is usually associated with the company that you registered your domain with.

Creating this record will allow you to synchronize your offline address book, show free/busy information and enable the Out of office feature.

Please send a request to your current DNS provider requesting a CNAME or SRV record change. Many web hosting companies have a control panel you can login to to make these kinds of changes. Below we demonstrate what you would need to do if we do not host your DNS, and it is hosted elsewhere.

Create a CNAME like this:

Exchange 2010

autodiscover.yourdomainhere.com. CNAME autodiscredirect.hostaccount.com

Exchange 2013

autodiscover.yourdomainhere.com. CNAME autodiscover.h01.hostedmail.net

  * yourdomainhere.com, means please substitute your domain, it is only an example

Exchange 2010

Service: _autodiscover
Protocol: ._tcp
Port Number: 443
Host: email.hostaccount.com
Priority: 0
Weight: 1

Exchange 2013:

Service: _autodiscover
Protocol: ._tcp
Port Number: 443
